A sport that many people tend to forget about as actually being a competitive sport is badminton. Badminton sets are relatively inexpensive, and its a great game to get your friends and family involved in. For the average back yard family, that’s all you need to have a whole lot of fun. All racquet sports are competitive and fun, but badminton is definitely the easiest and most inexpensive racquet sport to get started in. I would also go out on the limb and say that as far as racquet sports go, the least amount of injuries occur in badminton. I might have some challenges on that one from the Table Tennis or Ping Pong crowd but I have found that badminton players, at least the friendly back yard type that I’m used to are pretty docile in their game. I wouldn’t necessarily think that is the case with the competitive college crowd in their games, as they are a lot more aggressive in their play.
Badminton is a wonderful way too for the senior crowd to get in some very healthy exercise while enjoying some competition with their friends. Getting out in the fresh air, and getting some movement and exercise keeps folks looking and feeling young. It is a lot easier to start playing a simple game of badminton rather that a game of tennis if you have been inactive for a long time and are looking to getting back into some sort of physical fitness. Because a badminton set is a relatively inexpensive item, I wouldn’t spend a lot of time reading badminton set reviews.
