I recently had the privilege and opportunity to play a game of badminton with a racquet the Yonex Nanospeed 9900 that I have heard a lot of good things about. I’ve been playing badminton with the Wilson line of racquets for so many years, that it’s hard to try another brand.
Yonex racquets have an outstanding name and reputation in the world of badminton. Let’s face it, they do make a great product. I have been using their line of feather shuttlecocks and nylon shuttlecocks for years, I just haven’t had the courage to give up my Wilson Racquets as I have been so comfortable playing with them and I’m not one of those that does well with change.

Well change that thought. Thank goodness for broken strings. If it wasn’t for a couple of broken strings, I probably never would have made the leap so to speak, and tried out my playing partners new Yonex nanospeed 9900 badminton racquet.
I was very impressed by this racquet to say the least. Everything that is desirable in a racquet for a player of my caliber was there. Everything that I like about a badminton racquet. The head feels really light for great smashes. The light weight and feel combined with the power that this racquet affords turned me into a tiger on the court.
Great balance, a great but stiff flex, overall great racquet. It is also a very nice looking badminton racquet in what the Yonex company calls a metal orange color scheme. I thoroughly enjoyed my close encounter with this racquet and have put in on my wish list of things I’d like to have. Sorry my old trusted friend Mr. Wilson, I think it’s time to move on. Not that I don’t love anymore but the Yonex nanospeed 9900 has stolen my heart.
